We celebrated my dad's 60th birthday last Saturday at Chili's. Just the family and NO kids. It was so nice to eat without kids whining. Good food & drinks= good time!

Today was the best day at school. I had 5 kids absent and it was so peaceful. I need tomorrow to be like today. My granddad is in the hospital. Praying he heals quickly and goes home. We have Upwards bball on Saturday and then I am relaxing the rest of the weekend! I still have only lost 5 1/2 pounds since Jan. 1st. This week I will hopefully do much better. In the last week Kenna has learned to tie her shoes and ride her bike without training wheels. Go Kenna! Have a blessed day!

On Saturday me, mom and Brandi had a girls day. We shopped all day. It was awesome. I had 3 birthday cakes and still managed to loose 3/4th of a pound. I have lost 5 1/2 total. Still need to loose lots more. I am hosting bunco tomorrow night. We will play LCR instead of bunco. I am so greatful for the rain the last two days. We so desparately need more to fill up these lakes. My dad will be 60 on January 30th so we are celebrating on Saturday. Have a blessed rest of the week and weekend.

So Kyli wants an ipod touch so bad. We decided not to get them one for Christmas because I think Kenna is too young. We are at the point that whatever we buy for one, we have to buy for the other because they want what each other have. We have decided to let Kyli buy one with her own $. She can't get it out of her piggy bank or her savings. She has to earn it. Chris told her if she could come up with $150 then he would spot her $50. She only needs about $80 more. Kyli is such an awesome helper. Today she cleaned my shutters, bathroom, folded towels, cleaned her room, washed Raider and went grocery shopping for me. With Nanis help of course. My mom had to go to the store and since my list was just a couple of things I let her take my list and get my groceries. Thanks Nanis!

On Thursday after school Kenna wanted to make a cake since Kyli was hunting and she didn't get to go. So of course, I agreed!

Upwards basketball started Saturday. I coach both Kyli and Kenna's team. It is so much fun. I only got pics at Kenna's game because I was to busy coaching Kyli's team. I really get excited and into it. I always have a headache after Kyli's game! Kenna scored 4 points and Kyli 10.

On Friday Brandi's kids came to stay. They were so good at the bball games. They were awesome for Nanis on Saturday.

On Saturday some friends to me to Chili's to celebrate my birthday a little early. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

I got my new Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher finally and I am LOVING it! My hands were getting so dry and cracked for having to wash dishes. Man, we with dishwashers are spoiled! The kids are off tomorrow but I have inservice. UGH! I can't complain though because I had a 3 day weekend. I am just jealous cuz kids get a 4 day weekend. I am looking forward to this weeked because my birthday is Friday and me, mom and Brandi are going Saturday to celebrate ALL day. My bestie, Crystal, is renting the house next door because they sold their house and are going to rebuild. They have already started moving in but will start living there this weekend. Happy New Year! I hope 2012 is treating everyone well so far. I have lost 3 3/4 pounds in 9 days. I weighed myself on January 2nd and about died when I read my weight. So needless to say this momma is changed her ways. I have about 11 more pounds to go. I can do it because I have done is so many times before. It just gets a little harder the older I get.

Kyli had a project to she had to do that used square cm instead of Square feet. She did not quit understand the project of drawing a house that had to have bedroom, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. So Chris decided he would help. Well, this is a project that Chris should write his name on cuz basically Kyli "assisted."

I love my new Michael Kors watch my in-laws got me for Christmas. I have the best in-laws in the world! You all would be so jealous of me if you knew how fabulous they were.

We have a 3 day weekend thanks to the stock show. woo hoo! So excited! Upwards Basketball also starts this weekend and I coach Kyli and Kenna's team. I pray that I can stay calm! I am also meeting some of my girls for dinner to celebrate my upcoming birthday. My twinkie and I will be 36!!!!! Time flies!

On New Years Eve eve we went to Fredericksburg to meet up with Chris' family. We ate at Altdorf's. Yummy German food.

Pawpaw just had two surgeries on his hand. It has been a crazy week! He is doing much better! Kenna crashed and burned on her roller blades. You can see her boo boo on her chest.

We also had dinner at Chili's. The highlight of the last day of the year was spent spending lots of $ on a new dishwasher. JK! UGH! We built our house 5 years ago and purchased all LG products because Home Depot highly recommended them. Well in 5 years, we have replaced the stove, dishwasher and had the fridge worked on twice. I will never buy another LG product nor will I step foot in Home Depot. We spent $3500 on the kitchen appliances and they are ALL crap! We bought a Whirlpool Gold dishwasher. The bad news is I won't get it for another 8 days. Looks like the girls will be washing dishes.

2011 has been an amazing year. I have the best hubby, daughters, family and friends. We have our health! We have a wonderful church! I love my job (well, on most days) and I couldn't be more blessed.

Chris and I were able to take to vacays this year with each other, Belize and New Orleans. I loved Belize and am definately looking forward to returning. We took the girls to San Antonio for a couple of days and had a blast. Raider joined our family. That little man healed my broken heart. I still miss Spankie so much but Raider reminds me of him so much.

Over the holidays I drove long distances twice in the dark. I was in awe of my vision. I have not driven in the dark (except running to town and back) in over 3 years. My vision was clear and not blurry. The last two years have completely changed my health. God is good and so is Dr. Kemper.

Well, it is time to get the girls to bed. We are scrooges this year and will not be joining in on the fun at any parties. I feel sure we will be in bed by 10:00. We will be getting up and heading to Fred for our last Christmas this year with Granny and Grandpa. Please pray for patience form me because we go back to school on Monday. UGH! So dreading that day!

My diet starts on Monday. My goal is to lose 10 lbs. I know I can do it. I have done it before!

We had a fantastic Christmas. We still have one more this weekend with Granny and Grandpa in Fred. We got lots of goodies. I got new pots and pans, mixing bowls, blow up mattress, North Face jacket, Michael Kors purse and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$! Woo hoo! I usually put it in savings but this year I got a Tortoise shell Michael Kors watch. I love it! I am sure I'll spend more because I think I have been pretty good this year and I deserve to buy stuff for myself! LOL!

Christmas is my favorite time of year! I love the decor, lights, food, family, games and gifts. It is so fun watching the gifts open gifts and seeing their expressions. Of course, we also teach the kids it is not about the gifts but it is about Jesus' birthday.

Last night we met Chad and Amanda at Chili's. Yummy! Then we went to Starbuck's to get hot chocolate. We went to the Walk of Lights and then drove around. We discovered that not too many people put up lights anymore. We had a great time!

It is a crazy story how we met. Her hubby is a game warden and through another game warden wife that we both knew is how we meet. Crazy story! Anyways, they are great friends! Can't wait until we meet up again. Tomorrow is Christmas at my parents, Saturday we are going to my grandparents in DeLeon and Sunday Santa is visiting us and then we are off to Fredericksburg. Whew! It will be crazy but the girls are so excited. I keep on reminding the girls why we celebrate Christmas.

I am so frustrated right now because we can not find our underwater camera. That camera cost about $250. UGH! I just got it for him a little over a year ago. Not a good time to loose a camera. Hopefully my Canon rebel will work over Christmas! The battery does not last long.

December 16th started our Christmas break. Praise the Lord for a break because I so desperately need one. I was able to stop in at the girls parties. I only got a couple of pics at Kenna's.

On the last day of school before our break the girls get to open one gift. This year they received a robe. They always run around naked so I thought the robes would be perfect.

Check out all my Christmas gifts. Gifts included two monogrammed bags, frames, gift cards, Tervis tumbler, blankets, note pads, Scentsy, two Nothing bundt cakes, candy, nail polish, Bath and Body works, Tech ornament, colored pens, etc. Loved them all!

Yes, our chickens now roam freely in our backyard. NOT too happy about that!

Chris and I had a date night last night. We ate at Gumbos and then went to the Robert Earl Keen concert at Austin City Limits. We had so much fun!

This week is going to be catch up for me. I am getting hair done, eyebrow and lip waxed, oil changed, Raider groomed, finish shopping, organizing, etc. Before I know it, it will be January 2nd and time to go back to school. boo hoo! Have a blessed week!

Last weekend Chris took the girls to Fredericksburg for the weekend. I was all by myself from Friday 4:00 to Sunday around noon. It was fantastic. When the girls got back it was wet and cold outside so the girls painted and we did arts and crafts.Kenna came home with a swollen eye from a dog bite. She is okay. Her eye looks much better now!
Friday Kyli went to Kyla's bday party at the bowling alley. We decided to take Kenna bowling. It was fun but expensive. $30 for one hour!

We went shopping yesterday for a couple of things. We ended our day with Nothing Bundt Cakes! Yummy! Little Oinkers!

I am so blessed! I am not just thankful at Thanksgiving but thankful all year. This year I am most thankful for my family and my healed head. The doctor told me it would take almost two full years to fully recover from brain surgery. It is completely true. Up until about 4 months ago my face would just hurt all the time. I guess after one year and 7 months everything has healed. My face rarely hurts, headaches are very few, balance is much better and my vision is completely restored. I can't believe it! And the S&W neurosurgeons said it couldn't be done........with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26

We went to MF for dinner. Mom was gifted with Pandora, flowers, cake, balloons and gift cards to a spa, movies and pedicure. She deserves so much more cuz she is the best!

We went to DeLeon for Thanksgiving to see my family. It was a fast trip but I loved seeing my family even if it is for only 3 hours.

Tomorrow we are headed to Fredericksburg for Chris' family Thanksgiving. I love going to Fred. Me and my MIL are going to the Peddler Show. I love the Peddler Show.

Having some time away from school has been fabulous. I so needed the break. I wish we had a week off. I was so worn out! I hope everyone has a safe and blessed holiday!

Burnet Schools held their Thanksgiving Feast last Wednesday. Being a teacher it is hard to make it to parties so thank goodness for Chris and Nanis. It started out with Kenna's Pow Wow.

On Saturday my cousin's daughter got married. We drove to Palestine and the wedding was at Elmwood Gardens. It was so beautiful. It was so windy. The drive was 3 1/2 each way. UGH! Long day but I got to see my Sharp side of the family!

It was so good seeing my family. I haven't seen most of them in 5 years since grandmomma's funeral. SAD! We are all scattered all over Texas and Oklahoma. Maybe we can start a family reunion. One of my best friends, Sophie, spoils my kids rotten. Every time we see Sophie she has a bag full of candy. My kids get so excited when they know that we are gonna see Sophie. Last Wednesday I went to Lampasas to get the Keratin treatment and Sophie was waiting for me there with a bag full of goodies. Smurf shampoo and body wash, lip gloss, gum, hair bands, and lots more. The favorite goodie was a smurf hat for Kenna and a Scooby hat for Kyli. The girls were so pumped when I gave them their goodies.

So Kyli and Kenna's crabs died. I thought those stupid things would never die. Mimi bought them for the girls in February. They lived for a whole 9 months. Kyli was so sad and Kenna didn't really care. Tonight after b-ball practice we came home and had a burial for them. Triple T watching us like we were crazy.

Chris put on his coat and tie for his speech. I laughed so hard I nearly wet my pants.

Basketball started and I am so happy. I love it. I just hope I can be a good coach and stay in control. I am coaching Kyli and Kenna's team with Shelly. I love, love the Keratin treatment. My hair feels so good! It is so much easier to fix. My hometown team, Lampasas Badgers, are in the playoffs. We went to a football game on Friday and it brought back memories of Chris playing football. His team rocked! We need to show the girls some of his high school games. They would love it. We just had family pics taken. I can't wait to see how they turned out. I am so ready for Thanksgiving break. Too bad we will be traveling the whole time. Have a blessed week!

On Saturday we went to celebrate with Addison. She is turning 5 on Tuesday. We went and got pedicures and manicures. Then we went to the Cheesecake Factory to eat. It was so fun!

Whew! What a week! Chris has been gone since Sunday afternoon and will be home tomorrow afternoon. Praise the Lord! My girls are pretty easy but it is so hard when he travels. I am so thankful for him. On Halloween The Good Witch(Kyli), Smurfette( Kenna) and I went on a hay ride with some of my girlfriends. It was a blast!

I have a feeling the girls will be going with us because they miss their daddy. So thankful that we decided to get Raider this summer. He has been my snuggling with me and keeping me warm. I love him so much! He reminds me so much of Spankie. How I miss my Spankie Man. My new favorite show is Revenge. I love it! You definitely need to watch it on Wednesday nights. You will be hooked!

This weekend is Youth Opening for Deer Season. We went with our friends Wade and Lauren to their family ranch and Kyli shot a 7 point. Woo Hoo! We use deer meat all the time. We never have to buy beef unless we want to grill steaks.

On the way to the ranch we got a call that Lauren needed to go to the ER cuz a drawer feel on her foot and she could see the bone. OUCH! Wade spend about $30 and he fixed her all up. Can you imagine what a trip to the ER would cost!!!!!!!!!

On Thursday we had our Trunk or Treat at the Church. It was cold and windy. It also started misting which made for a miserable night. Thank goodness we left early. Kenna dressed up as Smurfette and Kyli was a pig.

There are 9 first grade teachers. This is a pic of my hall. We had so much fun! By the end of the day I had a huge headache because of my hair. My friend, Shelly, came to my class and put little cups in my pony tail to look like that. Excuse my hair. I get it colored on Tuesday.

This was a fantastic weekend. Friday night we just chilled. On Saturday we just chilled. I was so happy. Today we went to early service at 9:00. It was a great sermon on hope. Then at 3:00 we went to HCF Men's Outdoor Ministry. They hosted Family Day at Reville Ranch. I love going out there. You can fish, kayak, bike ride, etc........

Last night we went to watch the Bulldogs play the Badgers. I graduated from Lampasas and loved Badger football. I still love watching the Badgers. It brings back so many wonderful memories of high school. I also love the Burnet Bulldogs. It was a great game. In the end, the Badger won 37-29.

Weekend Getaway

This weekend we had a fast weekend getaway to Fredericksburg. The girls went with Mimi and Pawpaw to Waco to celebrate Reece's 2nd birthday so we stayed at their house. Chris, Brandi, Rob, Lauren, Wade and I left for Fredericksburg about 10:00 Saturday morning. Heading into Fred we decided to make a short visit to Luckenbach and then go eat at Alamo Springs Cafe. It has the BEST burger and french fries.

Tomorrow is Chris' 36th birthday. We celebrated early because the girls are going to Waco with Mimi and Pawpaw to celebrate Reece's 2nd b-day. Chris and I are going to Fredericksburg with Brandi, Rob, Wade and Lauren to celebrate Octoberfest.

Today I found out that I didn't pass my ESL test. I was three points shy of passing it. UGH! So I immediately boo hoo and sob the rest of the day when I was by myself or talking to my friends/co-workers. I felt like the stupidest person on earth. Then I began to question God on why he didn't answer my prayers. I have been praying for a month about this test. I have been praying for wisdom, knowledge and confidence in myself to pass this test. I have also been praying so long for rain. I kept on thinking that God doesn't hear my prayers. If he hears me, why can't he answer them. After I got home and realized I was just caught up in the moment and that God has answered so many of my prayers in my life that failing a test and no rain in this drought has no comparison what God has done for me. And, failing a test is nothing compared to what others are going through right now!

God has......

blessed me with an amazing childhood and family,

blessed me with an amazing, handsome, Christian husband,

blessed me with an education (with no debt thanks to my parents),

blessed me when he gave me two beautiful, healthy girls(even thought I wanted at least one boy),

blessed me with amazing friends,

blesses me every day when I teach 21 first grade students,

blessed me with Raider this summer and helped heal my broken heart from Spankie,

and

he fixed my brain on December 8, 2009 when most neurosurgeons said it couldn't be done and was too dangerous! With God anything is possible!

The list could go on forever on all my answered prayers. The devil got a hold of me today and made me question God. The crazy thing is, as soon as I got home it started pouring down rain. Another prayer answered. I'll keep on praying to pass that stinkin test!

Can I just tell you how happy that the first six weeks of school is over! I'll be so excited on Friday when reports cards go out, parent conferences are over, I'll know results of my ESL test and I will have finished CScope Math unit 5. It has been crazy and exhausting!

I am not a test taker and today I took my ESL test. I have put it off for years because I have test anxiety. Let me tell you that this test was so HARD! I feel like I wasted so many hours of not studying the right materials. The sad thing is... it cost $120 every time I take it. I have been praying so hard for the knowledge to pass this test. If I pass it, it will be a miracle because there were some questions I had no clue.

It is thundering and lightening. Music to my ears. I am begging for God to soak our ground.

I had a bug this weekend and now Kenna is throwing up. Hopefully it is short lived because I don't want to miss school two days in a row. Chris is at Fire Arms Training and can't help out all week.

My new Erin Condren planner that my sister bought me for keeping her kids when they went to Hawaii. Love it! I feel so organized!The kitty pillow on the left is what I have slept with for the past 35 years. I know, it is nasty and falling apart. It is probably full of bed bugs. I even took it on my honeymoon. Well, it is so bad off that I saw this mini pillow pet and thought I would start sleeping with it instead. So far things are good. Although, it still doesn't feel the same. I can't decide what to do with this old kitty pillow. I can't just throw it away because it means so much to me.
The girls have gone dove hunting with Chris twice now. They love it. They love to clean the birds. Kenna talks to them. "Don't die on me poor little fella." Too cute! Yes, Kenna has a black nose and spots on her cheek. They were dogs at school. Too bad she doesn't have on her doggy ears.

Prayer request- RAIN! Texas is so desperate for rain! We are literally burning up. Chris works at Texas Parks and Wildlife Headquarters in Austin and 17 employees lost their homes in the Bastrop fire.

I take my ESL test on September 26th. I am not a good test taker. I have test anxiety. So please just pray for me that I will have confidence in myself to go in there and pass that stinkin test.

I am so blessed! I love my family. My husband is so good to me. My daughters love Jesus. They are polite and say yes ma'am and no ma'am. My greatest reward is when people compliment my girls(which they do often)! Everyone is healthy! I love my church. I have the best friends and co-workers. I have a job. God is so good to me!

Remembering 9/11/01

I can't believe how fast the last ten years has flown by. Our country was forever changed on 9/11/01. I was teaching first grade in Livingston, TX. I was shocked that someone could do this to the U.S. My heart ached for all the families that were affected by this devastation. Last summer we took a trip to Ground Zero. The sadness was still there. I thought about how the families had to rebuild their lives after that awful day!

Chris had the honor of meeting our wonderful president, Mr. George Bush.

Today at church we remembered 9/11. Over 3,ooo flags were placed in the grass in honor of the fallen.

Our sermon was wonderful. Our pastor reminded us that with God in control we shall fear nothing! Our country and world has suffered so much devastation in the last 10 years. I pray that our people and our government lead this country as "One nation under God."

Granddad's 88th Bday

I am a blessed girl. I am 35 years old and my mom's parents are alive and healthy. They are so precious. I just love them. Mom and Brandi went to DeLeon to spend the day and celebrate my granddad's 88th birthday. My girls just love going to see Grandmomma and Granddad. I am exhausted! Going back to school is so hard. For the first 6 weeks there is not enough time to get things done. I am already for Christmas break just so I can have some time to catch up and rest. Please continue to pray for our school system. It is really bad but it will be worse next year if our government doesn't step in and help us all out! Please continue to pray for rain!

Monday, August 22nd was the first day of school. Kyli is in 3rd grade and Kenna is in kindergarten. We are very blessed with two awesome teachers. Kyli is in Mrs. Bullock's class and Kenna is in Mrs. Moore's. I took Kenna with me since she is at my campus. Chris took Kyli to school.

This is going to be a rough year. I have 21 students. 4 are a huge handful. Please pray for all teachers. We need lots of patience!!!! I have to remember how hard some of the kids have it. So sad! I need to be salt and the light! Don't get me wrong, teaching is so rewarding but it is so hard! We used to have smaller class sizes and support teachers in our class. They have taken all our help and we have a lot more kids. It is so sad where education ranks in this country.

Well, summer break is officially over for me. I went back to work on Monday. The girls' first day is Monday the 22nd. I am excited about the upcoming year. I will be team teaching with two other ladies. This is something new for us in 1st grade but hopefully it will be less stressful with our curriculum. I am sad to see summer gone for many reasons.

I am so very blessed to have a job where I get some time off with my family. Teaching is a very hard job and by the end of the school year my patience is nonexistence. Kids these days are not as well behaved and there is a huge lacking of parent support. Class sizes are too large. I have 22 kids this year. It will be a challenge. I will miss my girls, Raider, hanging by the pool, staying in my tshirt and shorts all day, my lazy days, pony tails, etc. I am thinking though that I am not fit for staying home because I was getting bored and impatient with my girls. I am ready for a new year and all the great things to come! Bye, Bye summer! See you next year!

I posted this out of order accidentally but it tells what we have been doing the last two weeks. For 8 days, my mom and I kept Brandi's 3 kids while she and her hubs when to Hawaii. It is a good thing that my mom and I live a block from each other. I also kept Schweenie and Slugger. It was HARD work! Mom is fixing to take them home in this pic! Praise the Lord!

Every summer i tend to spend way too much money. Chris is ready for me to go back to school. My living room has neutral colors and I am want to add the colors in this mirror. My kitchen, dining(rust color) and living(light tan) is one open area. I am looking to add more of these colors to the living room.

We just got back from our family trip to JW marriott in San Antonio. It was fun! The difference between a trip and vacay vary a little. A vacay involves no kids. You can actually chill and not chase kids. A trip is with kids. NO relaxing. Lots of running around and having lots of fun!

Today we went to a bead store and had lessons on how to bead a necklace. It was fun and we bought lots of fun beads. I decide to start making beads for the girls because they love fun necklaces and I refuse to pay $30 for one necklace. We have decided we are going to sell them to make money to buy more beads. My daughters love to make things. They love paint, scrapbook paper and most of all beads! For a while now they have been making necklaces and bracelets with the small beads. I decide to buy them larger beads when I saw Addi's newest necklace. I showed the girls some ways to make a necklace and they took off................ Kenna's 1st necklace

We use the elastic string so the girls can undo all the knots and restring a different necklace to go with a different outfit.

Kenna made this one to match a dress she wore to church. I love the colors! We just cut off the extra stretchy string.

We need to get more beads. The girls are loving this. I am thinking about helping them string on wire and put a clasp on it. But, that could get really expensive cuz they like to make so many. Using the stretchy string is nice cuz I can get the knots out and restring using the different beads they want. Kyli and Kenna want to start and etsy shop to save money for an Ipad. They are crazy. If momma doesn't have and ipad, why in the world would they get one. Crazy girls!

The last three days we have been babysitting Slugger and Schweenie. Two puppies is a LOT of work! Aren't they so cute?

Kenna lost her first tooth on Sunday, July 10th at Uncle Rocky and Aunt Tracy's house. I can't believe it. I have been so sad knowing she had a loose tooth and now it's out. The tooth fairy left her $4. KB was so excited. We went to Georgetown to visit my aunt and uncle and see their new grandbaby. He is adorable. We ate and swam. It was hot!

Just got a bath

I hate my Toshiba laptop. It is slow and freezes all the time. It takes forever to blog on my computer. It is only 1 1/2 year old. p of s! I love Chris' mac. I would much rather use his than use mine. Yesterday, we went to a water park in Round Rock. It was a lot of fun! Today, I am washing all the sheets, quilts and dirty clothes. We are just chillin. We will not get in the pool today. Too much sun the past couple of days. We are babysitting Brandi's two dogs. Whew, it is a lot of work when you have to take care of two puppies. Please continue to pray for rain. It is so dry and Texas. It is also extremely hot. It is very scary. Have a blessed and safe weekend!

Every month Yeti Coolers has a photo contest. I felt sure with these pics, Chris would win a new cooler. Can you believe they didn't win or place? I am shocked! LOL!

The girls love all outdoor activities. Thank the Lord the are tomboys since Chris never had a boy. This weekend is Spring Ho in Lampasas. It is our annual summer festival. I used to love it but now that I am older, I can't handle the heat. Man, I am getting old! he he! My brother and sister are coming over for the weekend. We will swim all weekend and visit. I love my family!

What a great trip to New Orleans. Chris and I are done traveling. We have a lot more fun planned this summer. In two weeks I am meeting up with my besties from high school. Then we are taking the girls to JW Marriott for a couple of days. Summer is flying by!
